The rumour mill is rife with news about Apples upcoming iPhone 8, and the latest of the bunch comes from Apple expert John Gruber.
Word is that the iPhone 8 will indeed come with wireless charging functionality that has been present on various other handsets, yet hasn’t featured on any iPhone to date. There is a catch though. As in true Apple fashion, the wireless charging station will be sole separately.
Though the feature is unconfirmed, Robert Hwang (chief executive of Apple supply chain company Wistron) earlier in the year issued the following statement: “New features like waterproof and wireless charging now require some different testing, and waterproof function will alter the assembly process a bit.”
The latest iPhone is also expected to feature an OLED screen as well as facial recognition and an edge to edge display. As always, be sure to stay up to date here at Menliness for more updates on the iPhone 8’s release, as well as all other technology news.
