“Goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend” – possibly lyrics you have listened to whilst owning one of these two iconic devices. It’s a sad time for those of us over the age of 12 as Apple has decided to discontinue both its Nano and Shuffle iPod generations.
The decision follows from the move to cut production of the iPod classic back in 2014, with the iPhone slowly becoming the favoured option as a music player among fans of the Californian tech firm.
A spokesperson from Apple said in a quote, “Today, we are simplifying our iPod lineup with two models of iPod touch now with double the capacity starting at just $199 USD and we are discontinuing the iPod shuffle and iPod nano”.
Stock should still be available for a limited time from independent retailers – but once it’s gone, that’s it.
Will you miss either of these devices? Be sure to let us know.
